Text on Argentina in today BRIEF GLOBAL

This is not the party in Argentina

Victor Armony

Counting the Bicentennial of Argentina has just begun. In 2010, Argentines celebrate two centuries of life and the sovereign Government will certainly not be emphasized. Despite the ups and downs of this country with huge dreams and misfortunes abysmal, I have noted that national pride is alive and well, at least in appearance.

2008 Patronal feast of Saint Paul

is Friday, June 27, 2008
we found ourselves to celebrate our patron saints Peter and Paul.

As usual, there was Mass at 18:00, then a drink at 19:00 and finally dinner at 20:00.

Time has spoiled us with a refreshing breeze
we changed the stifling heat of the day.

The Mass went smoothly, thanks to Father Bernard Peytavi,
accompanied by the choir led the singing synthesizer by Mr Brandely
and cicadas, as always at the rendezvous.

The
aperitifs and appetizers were enjoyed by all.

In the chapel, some were able to admire the exhibition of the history of our works, thanks to photos
jealously guarded by Marie-Theresa & Johnny Palenque

Finally our beautiful day
hot meal prepared by the caterer Bordes,
and wines of our winemakers have flattered our taste buds.

A big THANK YOU to our growers Abeilhan who
Throughout the years we have given
try their best productions, namely:

The children have not been forgotten by the association
who made available the "Game of the ways of Saint Peter"

To prepare the feast, and for cleaning after party,
we thank everyone who helped us,
starting with municipal employees, Maurice
Pradier, Victoria Delmas and all our volunteers.

We take this opportunity to welcome, and
Congratulations to Yvan Segalas,
newly sworn in as mayor Abeilhan,
and accompanied by his wife Monique .

Welcome also to our community
Englishwoman who joined us thanks to Linda,
our dedicated city councilor.

the day, busy, went very well
except for a small problem with the generator, quickly solved!
... Thanks Pepito Zaguirre for the loan of his group ...
... just in case! ...

Jubilee

Our Holy Father Benedict XVI has dedicated a special Jubilee Year,

dedicated to Saint Paul from June 28, 2008 to June 29, 2009

(we are in it )

to mark the millennium of the birth of the apostle,

which historians place between 7 and 10 years after Jesus Christ.

A logo has been created especially for this occasion.

Norbert wanted to "make a splash" by reproducing the logo in wrought iron.

With the help of Johnny, this logo was painted and then placed on a Plexiglas frame

and hung beside the door.

It will be at our celebration of 27 June

for the closing of the year pauline.

What Do The Sparkly Jelly Bracelets Mean

Spanish Language in Canada

¡Hola Canada! English Is Third Most Spoken Language

Jack Jedwab and Victor Armony
FOCAL Points, May 2009, Volume 8, No. 4

There has been an important growth of second language English speakers in Canada. While it remains well behind English and French, in 2006 English has became the third most widely spoken language in Canada and has now earned the title of Canada’s most important non-official language. It is worth noting that, appropriately, Chinese is not considered one language and the census lists Mandarin and Cantonese separately.
